When Saint John-based Millennia Tea brought its frozen tea products to market in the depths of the pandemic, CEO Tracy Bell had a problem: how to entice potential buyers in a world where the usual promotional methods were unworkable.

Millennia TEA, a category creating innovator in the wellness industry, has doubled its retail footprint by launching in Canada’s largest retailer – Loblaws. The New Brunswick start-up offers consumers the very first freshly-frozen, un-processed tea plant product in market today.

How a New Brunswick Start-Up Is Disrupting The Tea Industry and Going Global. Owned and operated in Saint John, New Brunswick, by female entrepreneur Tracy Bell, start-up Millennia Tea has an inspiring story to tell.

Millennia TEA is on a mission to fuel wellness with the freshest and most antioxidant-rich tea anywhere. They pick, wash and flash-freeze tea leaves (instead of heating and drying them like conventional teas.) The result: a cup of tea as powerful as five cups of green tea, and the first food-grade tea to provide an antioxidant boost to your smoothies, sauces, soups and more.

We recently got the chance to chat with Tracy Bell,  a television reporter, turned corporate exec, turned start-up CEO. In 2016, a health scare in the family prompted Tracy and her husband to reimagine the way tea is processed in an effort to extract more antioxidants.
