Tea has been around for thousands of years

...and there’s good reason it’s the most popular beverage on earth (after water of course). Long before it was a beverage, tea was considered medicine. For centuries after its discovery, tea was enjoyed with leaves fresh from the plant. It was only when countries started exporting their tea overseas that they started drying and processing the leaves so they would survive the long journey overseas.

All tea comes from the same plant: Camellia Sinensis. It gets its superfood status for its ability to help heal the body’s cells – nourishing them and helping prevent and battle diseases. The role antioxidants play in the prevention of disease has positioned loose leaf tea as the ideal health beverage. It fights inflammation, supports a strong immune system and includes promoting heart health, cognitive function, longevity, energy, positive mood and alertness.

Research shows that the antioxidant Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) has the broadest and most potent ability to protect your body’s cells from disease.

Studies found EGCG to be 100x more effective than Vitamin C and 25x more effective than Vitamin E at strengthening our immune system and protecting cells from free radical damage.

Green tea is considered the most predominant source of catechins among all dietary sources. And tea is known for its ability to stimulate the central nervous system and cardiac function in humans.

By keeping tea leaves in their most natural state (i.e. flash-freezing within hours of harvest), we are able to preserve the maximum amount of EGCG antioxidants and associated health benefits.

Caffeine without the crash

If you are looking at options to either supplement your caffeine use or lower it, another key bonus of TEA vs. COFFEE is the superhero amino acid: L-theanine. It’s the awesome caffeine regulator that gives you the energy + clarity without the jitters or crash!

L-theanine: L- theanine is a neurologically active organic compound present almost solely in the green tea plant with the exception of a kind of edible mushroom (the bay boletes).

Within around 30 minutes of consumption, L-theanine crosses the blood-brain barrier, where it appears to smooth out brain waves, without flattening them as visualized on an EEG and improving cognition in humans in interesting ways.

L-theanine is called “the closest thing to meditation that you can consume.” It is found to promote alpha-wave brain production, an index of wakeful relaxation similar to that experienced during and directly after meditation. This is also why it’s known to promote mood!

Not only is consuming tea kept in its pure, raw form best for your health, but you can also rest assured you are drinking a product that’s setting the global standard in safety.
