TEA-infused Christmas Cocktail
TEA-infused Christmas Cocktail
Recently, I went to a Christmas potluck. We already knew there would be way too much food on the table, so I decided to take on a big responsibility: make everyone delightful and festive Christmas cocktails. I had a plan all laid out and on my way to the party with my cocktail ingredient list in my hand, I stood before a dark, closed grocery store door… There was a staff Christmas party. Luckily, I like a challenge, so I ran home to see what my pantry had in stock for us and there was plenty to get creative with. Turns out, groceries weren’t needed after all. Everyone had a blast and enjoyed their improvised drinks with a healthy twist + energy boost! Here are the ingredients that ended up in my bag:
Ingredients:
- Fresh rosemary
- Cinnamon sticks
- 1 lemon
- Sugar
- Fluff (yes, fluff)
- Candy canes
- Angostura bitters
- Local NB @tea_of_life_kombucha Spiced cranberry kombucha (strawberry hibiscus is super delish too!)
- Local NB @devilskeepdistillery Vodka
- Millennia TEA Superfood Cubes
Instructions:
- Make TEA, cinnamon and rosemary infused simple syrup (ratio 1:1). Bring water to a boil and add sugar, a Superfood TEA Cube, cinnamon sticks and fresh rosemary. Make it as cinnamon-y as you like! Take it off the heat and let it sit for at least ten minutes. Then strain.
- Crush your candy canes. I put them in a zip lock bag and used a hammer for fast results.
- Rim your glass with fluff and then dip in the crushed candy canes.
- Add 1 ounce of vodka.
- Add 1/2 to 1 ounce of simple syrup.
- Add a few dashes of bitter and stir.
- Add about 1/2 cup of kombucha.
- Add ice cubes.
- Add lemon peel (orange peel would work well too)
- Garnish with either a sprig fresh rosemary, a cinnamon stick or a candy cane.
Happiest of Holidays everyone!
